The so-called King's Gate - Captured by king Anitta, ruler of Kussara and Kaneš, who accepted the titel of "great king" and cursed Hattusa
- c.1650 BCE: in spite of the curse, the town was refounded by a descendant of Anitta who took the city's name as personal name and called himself Hattusili, "the man from Hattusa" (r. c.1650-c.1620)
- Old Kingdom (until c.1575 BCE): settlement Büyükkake

Iron Age helmet - Many new temples, gates,and wall
- Attacked by Kaska people from the north
- Thirteenth century BCE: sanctuary at Yazılıkaya
- c.1200 BCE: evacuated during the reign of Šuppililiuma II; there appears to have been a famine; houses were not looted
- Hattusa was still inhabited during the Iron Age
- Completely forgotten
